Central banking symposium comes amid worries over a recession along with the U.S.-China trade war

The summit starts today. Philadelphia Fed President Patrick Harker and Dallas Fed President Robert Kaplan are both set to comment on the world’s largest economy later today.

Stock index futures rose on Thursday as investors looked ahead to the start of a central banking summit. The Fed cut interest rates by 25 basis points in July. Market expectations for another rate cut in September are at 93.5%, according to the CME Group’s FedWatch tool.
